PURPOSE:To simplify an error correcting operation of a word by enlarging an executing condition of a spelling check executed by a carriage return key operation, up to the case when a carriage has been positioned on the word concerned, and also, cancelling a carriage return processing, when a spelling error is detected. CONSTITUTION:The titled typewriter is provided with a spelling check executing condition enlarging means (f) for executing a spelling check processing of a word of a word area in response to a carriage return key operation which has been executed in a state that a carriage loaded with a printing head is positioned in the word area consisting of an inputted word and the right adjacent space of this word, and a carriage return cancelling means (g) for cancelling a carriage return processing (e), when a spelling error is detected by a spelling check processing (c) executed by a carriage return key operation (d). In such a way, the spelling check responding to the carriage return key operation can be executed more surely, and also, the error correcting operation of a word can be simply executed. |
