PURPOSE:To obtain a die steel for warm working having high strength and excellent in heat resistance, by specifying a composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, W, V, Nb, REM, and Fe. CONSTITUTION:The die steel for warm working has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.5-0.8% C, 0.1-1.0% Si, 0.1-1.0% Mn, 3.0-5.0% Cr, 2.0-4.0% Mo, 0.5-2.0% W, 1.0-1.8% V, 0.05-0.15% Nb, 0.005-0.2% REM, and the balance Fe with usual inevitable impurities, and this steel has superior resistance to heat checks, while maintaining strength and wear resistance of cold die steel class, and is extremely effective for die material for warm working particularly of <=about 850 deg.C.
