PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a food containing much Ge at a low cost, by carrying out subculture of lactic acid bacteria in a culture medium prepared by adding a Ge compound to milk and culture medium consisting of milk to give a Ge-resistant bacteria, transplanting the bacteria to a culture medium obtained by adding a large amount of Ge, fermenting and cultivating the bacteria. CONSTITUTION:Lactic acid bacteria (C) are subjected to subculture in one culture medium (A1)-(An) prepared by adding a germanium compound, e.g. germanium dioxide, etc., to milk and the other culture medium (B1)-(Bn) consisting of milk to give germanium-resistant lactic acid bacteria (Anx), which are as a strain transplanted to a culture medium (D) obtained by adding a larger amount of a germanium compound than in the one culture medium to carry out fermentation and cultivation. The germanium compound is absorbed in the bacterial cells to produce a feed containing the germanium and afford the aimed germanium-containing food (E).
