<p>Selection of genetically transformed plant cells from mixts. with non-transformed plant cells is effected by contacting the mixt. with a substance (I) which selectively attacks the non-transformed cells. (I) is fleomycin, bleomycin, tallysomycin and/or a substance with a similar structure, and the DNA introduced into the transformed cells contains a marker including a nucleotide sequence conferring resistance to (I). The marker is specifically one known to impart resistance to (I) in bacterial cells, e.g. the bleomycin resistance marker in the Tn5 transposon of E.coli.</p> |
