The present invention relates to an improved pressure-relief apparatus. This apparatus comprises a body 1 with inlet 2 and outlet 3 for gas, a cover 4 mounted on this body and a manometric membrane 5 stressed by a calibration spring 9 and able to pivot on a stop 10 securely fastened to the cover 4 so as to allow the seat 12 for the gas inlet 2 to be shut off, the seat 12 being able to be shut off in a positive and sealed manner by a means 13 and/or by a means 14 equipping the membrane 5 and interacting with the cover 4. The apparatus of the invention is, for example, intended to equip domestic installations supplied with a fuel gas, such as butane or propane. <IMAGE>
