PURPOSE:To improve the agitating efficiency of a developer and to make a developing device compact by having the 1st developer agitating member and the 2nd developer agitating member and constituting these members in such a way that the developer is fed to a developing brush device and the 2nd developer agitating member by the 1st developer agitating member and the 2nd developer agitating member is installed in the part where a replenishing toner falls. CONSTITUTION:The developer stagnating on the rear surface of a developer regulating plate 24 flows dividedly to an aperture where the developer is forced upward and while the developer is agitated by an agitating member 26 such as an agitating vane or a screw, etc., the developer moves toward the right and arrives at an agitating member 28 on the right side by passing over a partition plate 27. The developer in said member is mixed and agitated with the toner replenished at an adequate amt. from above and falls into a lower developer stagnating part 20, thus repeating circulation. On the other hand, the developer used for the development is removed from a screw 14 and is recovered into the part 20. The recovered developer is agitated by an agitating member 21 and is cyclically used.
