PURPOSE:To aim at improvement in the accuracy of positioning and shortening the time for indexing, by making a phase indexing possible in the state that a workpiece is clamped by a chuck unit. CONSTITUTION:When a work 13 is indexed, the work is positioned between chuck bodies 5 and 6 while a piston 9 is made to move forward to the chuck side and the work 13 is positioned by means of a positioning pin 12a and a reference pad 12b of a positioning member 12. With the piston 9 moving forward, a jaw operating body 15 moves forward to the work side via a disk 14, shifting each jaw body 16 to the center side by a taper part 15b, so that the work is chucked by the tips of each jaw body 16. A chuck body 6 at the opposite side also operates whereby the other end of the work is thus chucked. Then a spot where the work is positioned is machined. |
