PURPOSE:To make the seal clearance adjustable by forming both the outside of a rotary shaft and the inside of a seal ring into a taper face and by making the seal ring movable in the axial direction together with a case. CONSTITUTION:A taper face 22a in the axial direction if formed on the outside of a shaft sleeve 22 fitted around a rotary shaft 21. Seal rings 30a, 30b, 30c, 30d are floatably held between the rotary shaft sleeve 22 and a retainer 29 inserted into a cylindrical case 23 in the axial direction, and the inside of the seal rings 30a-30d is formed into a taper face along the taper face 22a. The cylindrical case 23 is fixed to a pump body 4 with a bolt 25 through an adjusting shim 24 made of a number of thin plates. |
