APPARATUS FOR REGENERATION OF WET SPENT ACTIVE CARBON

Apparatus for regenerating wet spent active carbon comprises a furnace arranged such that hot gas in the furnace(1) contacts the spent carbon suppled from a hopper(4). Exhaust gas from the furnace(1) is ducted through the hopper(4) to pre-heat the spent form. Condensate collecting header(10) is at the lower part of the hopper(4) to collect water separated from the spent carbon. Furnace is pref. a fluidised bed type. Apparatus is more economical.
