The tool incorporates a bush (2) on which the eyelet (7) to be mounted is placed. The top of this bush is shaped to match the shape of the eyelet. A hollow pin (4) is mounted in the bush. The upper inner edge of this pin forms the cutting edge with which the hole for the eyelet is punched. The hollow pin is supported by a spring (12), so that after the material (8) is punched, the eyelet is pushed by the bush against an upper die (11). The die rivets the edge of the eyelet over a washer (9) placed at the other side of the material.
