PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium having two polarity extraction electrodes formed on one and the same member. SOLUTION: The image display medium 1 includes: a display layer 2 such as liquid crystal for displaying an image; a front substrate 3 with a front-side electrode and a backside substrate 4 with a backside electrode which are arranged to face each other and sandwich the display layer 2 in-between; and one extraction electrode substrate 50 which includes a front side extraction electrode 51 connected to the front-side electrode and a back side extraction electrode 52 connected to the backside electrode, and is used for connecting to an external apparatus for applying a voltage to the display layer 2.
