Disclosed are a base station handover method in a heterogeneous network, and a base station. The method comprises: after a target base station receives a handover request message of a first base station, the target base station executes access control, and determines whether a connection of a UE in a second base station is kept for the UE after the UE accesses; and if the connection is kept, the target base station sends an assistance request message to the second base station to request the second base station to assist the target base station to provide a dual-connection service to the UE, and returns a handover request acknowledgment message to the first base station after the target base station receives a reply message of the second base station. |
