Convention dates, Sept. 5, 1934 and Feb. 25, 1935. [Class 80 (iv)] [See also Groups XXXI and XXVI] To prevent transmission of deformation stresses from a vehicle or like frame an engine 1 is mounted therein by means of two pairs of inclined support ing links a-b, c-d, in conjunction with a member e for restraining axial displacements and a member f to absorb torque reactions, all the members having ball-and-socket or like universal connections. The members may be adjustable in length and may incorporate rubber or other shock or noise damping means. The member f may embody means for measuring the torque. The Carden shaft in a motor vehicle may serve the purpose of the member e. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 includes a form in which the links a-b, c-d are connected to the sides of the crankcase 1. This form does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
