PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device and a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying a high quality image with a simple structure, when simultaneously using two types of light sources having different light emitting characteristics.SOLUTION: A surface light source device 200 includes: a laser light source 9; a laser light guide rod 7 for converting a laser beam L90 into first linear light; an LED light source 10; an LED light guide rod 8 for converting LED light L100 into second linear light extending in the same direction as the first linear light; a reflection bar 6 having reflection parts 61, 63 for reflecting a part of the first and second linear light, and a diffusion reflection part 62 for diffusing and reflecting the remaining portion of the first and second linear light; and a light reflection part 5 formed in a box shape and having an opening 56 in which an emission side opens and a reflection surface 57 at the inside of the box shape. In the first and second linear light, one part is reflected at the reflection parts 61, 63 and the reflection surface 57, and the remaining portion is diffused and reflected at the diffusion reflection part 62 and emitted from the opening 56.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
