Disclosed is a transparent display device, which comprises: a transparent display made of a transparent material; a camera; a graphic processing unit for generating an augmented reality (AR) object; and a control unit operated in any one of a transparent AR mode which displays the AR object on the transparent display and a video AR mode which displays the AR object on a photographing image of the camera, and operated by being converted into the other AR mode when a predetermined event occurs.
