<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression apparatus and a data compression program capable of carrying out novel and preferred compression processing applicable to compression of CT data. <P>SOLUTION: The data compression apparatus includes: a nonreversible data conversion section that rewrites numerals configuring data to be compressed comprising consecutive numerals expressed in a prescribed number of unit bits in a way of decreasing a difference between the numerals and a plurality of numerals existing at prescribed positions around the consecutive numerals and outputs the result; a difference generating section that generates new data to be compressed comprising the consecutive numerals expressing differences of the adjacent numerals in the rewritten data to be compressed; an offset section for offsetting each numeral in the new data to be compressed by a prescribed value; a division section that divides the offset data to be compressed into high-order data comprising consecutive numerals of high-order bits and a low-order data comprising consecutive numerals of low-order bits; and a low-order data compression section and a high-order data compression section respectively applying reversible compression processing to the low-order data and the high-order data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
