A Digital Hologram Compression Method based on Quad-tree Fresnelet

The present invention relates to a digital hologram compression method based on quad-tree Fresnelet which compresses and encodes a digital hologram image. The method comprises the following steps of: (a) obtaining a digital hologram; (b) calculating sub-bands by performing a Fresnelet transformation of the digital hologram image; (c) selecting a sub-band to be processed by N bit quantization (N is equal to or greater than two) among the sub-bands; and (d) encoding the sub-band by performing scalar quantization of the selected sub-band. According to the digital hologram compression method based on quad-tree Fresnelet, a compression rate is slightly lowered, but image quality can be improved.
