<p>[Problem] The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a superior glass substrate for a hard disk, which is capable of sufficiently suppressing fluttering and crashing of a head, and which is capable of securing quality which meets a demand for high density. [Solution] The present invention is a manufacturing method for a glass substrate for a hard disk, the manufacturing method for the glass substrate for the hard disk characterized in including a processing step in which, when an end portion shape of both main surfaces of the glass substrate is defined to be a shape of a range from a position of starting to descend or to rise, compared with a central portion, on a front face or a rear face, to an outer diameter position of the same, adjusting of the end portion shape is performed so that the average value (∆CAve) of the end portion shape difference between the front face and the rear face on the glass substrate is less than or equal to 1000 nm.</p> |
