<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical waveguide that, when the optical waveguide is mounted on an optical element or an optical fiber, enables suppression of a defective item mixing with non-defective items and, even if the defective item mixes therewith, enables identification of that as the defective item and facilitates the identification and separation of the defective item during manufacturing of the optical waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing an optical waveguide in which two or more optical waveguide components including at least core patterns and cladding layers are arranged at least either in the direction parallel or perpendicular to the core patterns.
