<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the abnormality diagnosis of a starter without disturbing the operation of the engine automatic stop by idle stop control. <P>SOLUTION: A starter 10 performs cranking of an engine by using any one of a first starter drive circuit 14 for supplying power in the closed state of a starter switch 16, and a second starter drive circuit 15 which has a pinion drive relay 22 and a motor drive relay 23 as a second switching means, and supplies the power to the starter by changing each relay from the opened state to the closed state. An ECU 40 detects that the opening/closing of the starter switch 16 is changed over, and when it detects that the changing is performed, switching elements (TR1-TR3) of the second switching means are energized, and the abnormality diagnosis whether or not any opening abnormality such that the closed state can not be obtained and the opened state is kept occurs in the second switching means, is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
