<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition that is excellent in discharge stability and can easily form an image having excellent luster, and to provide a printed matter on which the image having the excellent luster is formed. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition is discharged by an inkjet method and comprises silver particles, a nonionic surfactant and water. The relation of 0.4≤X×Y≤56.7 can be achieved, provided that: the content rate of the nonionic surfactant is X [mass%]; and HLB value of the nonionic surfactant, measured by Griffin's method, is Y.
