PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a suspended metal mask plate for screen process printing which can freely change a mesh opening rate, a wire diameter, and a thickness, and can be generated inexpensively as compared with a conventional mesh, and a method for generating the mask plate. SOLUTION: The suspended metal mask plate has a plate frame 1 composed of a metallic material, a mesh (gauze) 2 formed of a network which is extended by fixing its periphery by being adhered to the inside of the plate frame, a metal plating-made mesh body 3 which is fixed by being adhered to the printing surface side middle part of the mesh (gauze) and prepared by plating, and a metal mask 4 which is jointly fixed to the printing surface side middle part of the metal plating-made mesh body by plating joint.
