PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in durability even in long-term repeated use or in an oxidative gas, and capable of outputting a high-quality image without image degradation, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a conductive support, and on the conductive support, a monolayer type photosensitive layer including at least a charge generating substance and a charge transporting substance, or a multilayer type photosensitive layer including a charge generating layer including a charge generating substance and a charge transporting layer including a charge transporting substance, are layered in this order, and is characterized in that the charge transporting layer of the monolayer type photosensitive layer or the multilayer type photosensitive layer contains a specified diamine compound and is used in an image forming apparatus with an exposure means for forming an electrostatic latent image by exposure using a semiconductor laser at an oscillation wavelength of 350 to 500 nm or a light emitting diode as the exposure light source.
