PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which prevents waterdrops from entering between a substrate provided with LEDs and a light guide plate and is ready for expansion and contraction of the light guide plate.

SOLUTION: In the lighting device including: an LED socket 21 receiving the LED substrate 22 equipped with the LEDs 24 and 25; and the light guide plate 3 which is engaged in the LED socket 21 and in which light emitted from the LEDs 24 and 25 and incident from one end face is reflected on a reflection portion provided on one side, a water-proof gasket 26 equipped in a groove 21h provided on the outer periphery of the LED socket 21 and surrounding the light guide plate 3 is placed.
