A display device (100) comprises pixels arranged in a matrix with rows and columns. A pixel electrode (11) which defines each pixel includes a reflecting electrode (11r) and a transparent electrode (11t). A gate bus line (12) associated with some row is placed so as to divide each of pixels included in this row into two parts and form an upper region above this gate bus line and a lower region below this gate bus line. Out of two TFTs (16) respectively associated with any two pixels included in this row and adjacent to each other, a channel region of one TFT and a channel region of the other are provided in the upper region and the lower region, respectively.
