The lens barrel has a stationary tube for supporting an imaging optical system and a shake detection sensor for detecting a shake of the lens barrel relative to a predetermined detection axis. The shake detection sensor is attached to the stationary tube with the detection axis substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the imaging optical system.
