摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode an H. 263 coded bit stream through a simple configuration.

SOLUTION: The image decoder comprises a means for switching the decoding analysis method of AC prediction existence indication information for indicating whether there is any prediction processing of the AC component of intra-DCT coefficients or not when a first coded bit stream of H. 263 coding system is received and when a second coded bit stream of MPEG-4 coding system is received. The switching means skips decoding analysis of AC prediction existence indication information in the decoding analysis process of macro block coded data and judges that there is no AC prediction when the first coded bit stream is received, and performs decoding analysis of AC prediction existence indication information when the second coded bit stream is received.
