The drive train has a combustion engine (VM), which provides a direct start, an electrical machine (EM), and a clutch (K) by which an output shaft of the engine is connected with a rotor to the machine. A double clutch transmission (DKG) is provided whose input shaft and its output shaft are connected with a propelled wheel to the rotor of the electrical machine. An independent claim is included for a method for the operation of a drive train for a motor vehicle.
