发明名称 Improvements in and relating to a water turbine driven fan, particularly for cooling towers
摘要 1,016,697. Cooling towers. E. B. TALBOT. Dec. 3, 1962 [Dec. 8, 1961], No. 44089/61. Heading F4K. [Also in Division F1] In a water cooling tower 18, the water is fed through a pipe 1 having one or more connections 9 each connected to water passages 5 leading to the blades 3 of a Girard impulse turbine. The blades 3 are connected by arms 4 to a sleeve 11 mounted on bearings 16 carried by a hollow or solid extension 10 of the turbine water piping. A centrifugal or axial-flow fan 12 mounted at the top of the tower 18 on the sleeve 11 sucks up air through packing 14 and baffles 15 for removing entrained moisture. The water leaving the blades 3 is allowed to spread, with or without the aid of baffles 17, over the packing 14 or, alternatively, it may be collected and guided directly to the packing 14 by a shroud (not shown) surrounding the blades 3. The fan and the turbine may both be below or above the baffles 15; in the latter case the water collecting shroud is provided. The turbine blades 3 may be mounted on the fan hub 20.
