PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for curing or preventing injury to skin or mucous membrane, and for a healing process of a wound and a tissue regenerating process which contains MP-52 protein coded to a DNA sequence and having a mitogen potential and/or differentiation inducibility. SOLUTION: The composition contains as an agonist MP52 protein having a nucleotide sequence coding (a) nucleotide 640-2142 or 1783-2142 indicated by SEQ ID No.1 and (b) amino acid 1-501 or 382-501 indicated by SEQ ID No.2, or (d) a nucleotide sequence hybridized with one sequence derived from (a) or (b) under the stringent condition.
