<p>A venting system for a double glazed window (1) has vents at the top (3) and at the bottom (2) of the window fitted to ducts between the inside and outside of the window and with the space between the panes. The valves have an extended cylindrical design and are set into one of a number of settings by a control system linked to solar cells and temperature sensors. A winter setting has the space between the panes linked to the inside via both valves with the convection between the panes adding to the thermal insulation. A summer setting has the space between the panes linked to the outside via both valves, with the convection between the panes adding to the cooling effect. Additional settings include both valves shut and both valves connecting directly between the outside and the inside.</p> |
