PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven capable of performing cooking by steam and cooking by high frequency simultaneously and maintaining a cooking chamber in a clean condition when performing cooking by steam. SOLUTION: A water vessel heated by high frequency and generating steam is arranged in an upper part of the cooking chamber, and a water supply guide and a steam vessel are arranged in an upper part of a housing. The steam vessel includes a main body and a cover. Many steam holes are formed in a bottom face part of the main body to transmit steam to an object to be cooked stored in the main body. A base plate for the object to be cooked in which many steam holes are formed is provided inside the main body, and the object to be cooked is put on the base plate for cooking. Since the steam hole formed in the bottom face part of the main body is formed by passing through a projection protruding upward from a bottom face and the steam hole formed in the base plate is arranged by deviating from the steam hole of the projection, water content and oil content generated from the object to be cooked put on the base plate flow out through the steam holes in the base plate and are stored on the bottom face of the main body.
