PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a receiving circuit is operated periodically or manually, that the receiving circuit is not operated in order to achieve a long life in an electricity-saving state, that the time is deviated during the electricity-saving state, that the time is deviated when the electricity-saving state is released and that the time is displayed as it is deviated until the receiving circuit is operated next. SOLUTION: The radio controlled timepiece comprises an oscillator 1 used to generate a reference signal, a clocking circuit 2 used to output a clocking signal on the basis of the signal from the oscillator and the receiving circuit 30 used to receive radio waves containing time information. In the timepiece, an electricity-saving control circuit 19 which sets the timepiece to the electricity- saving state is installed, and the receiving circuit 30 is operated on the basis of the control of the means 19. |
