PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver IC for a display with built-in RAM, which can suppress an increase in power consumption even when memory is increased in the total number in line direction. SOLUTION: The IC driver has a main read line MR which is shared by plural memory cells M11-Mn1 arranged along the line direction and transmits a display data read from a single memory cell sequentially selected in the line direction. The plural memory cells are divided in the line direction by the prescribed number of cells, and thereby plural blocks B1-B35 are formed. Each of these plural blocks B1-B35 is provided with one of sub-read lines SR1-SR35, and a display data read from one memory cell in each block is transmitted through the sub-read line. Plural main switches MSW1-MSW35 are arranged to alternatively connect one of the plural sub-read lines SR1-SR35 with the main read line MR. Each of the memory cells in each block is provided with one of sub-switches SSW1-SSW8, and one of them is selectively connected with a corresponding sub-read line.
