PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the position of a printed image on a printing medium in a printing machine by a simple method. SOLUTION: A mark 14 arranged on a sheet 5 is detected by the first sensor 1, and the edge 43 of the sheet 5 is detected by the second optical sensor 18. The distance between the mark 14 and the edge 43 is calculated by an evaluation unit 22.
