PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inlet side silencer of a reciprocating compressor capable of reducing a flowing noise by damping a pressure pulsation generated by the collision of refrigerant gas with internal structures of the inlet side silencer when sucking the refrigerant gas. SOLUTION: This inlet side silencer is formed by storably installing vibration damping member 100 for absorbing the wave motion of fluid on the inside wall surfaces off refrigerant tanks S1, S2, and S3 so that fluid noise generated by the collision of the fluid flowing at a high speed through a suction port 11 and refrigerant ducts 15 and 16 against the inside wall surfaces of the refrigerant tanks S1, S2, and S3 can be damped.
