<p>A user programmable scrolling display for attachment to clothing, backpacks and accessories or to be used as a self-contained module, wherein one may create, edit, store and display a multiplicity of messages by manipulating control buttons (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d) which comprise less than a full keyboard. The display (10, 12) includes a compact case (11) with control circuitry and a battery power source therein and resilient snap-lock fingers (15a-15d) on the exterior thereof which cooperate with a clip or pin to affix the display to clothing. The rear face may include serial interface holes (45a, 45b) for coupling an interior mounted printed circuit board to a computer to provide a second method for programming messages. In another embodiment, the display unit comprises an elongated base and a display portion extending outwardly therefrom for insertion to an aperture in a foam board or cardboard unit (37). The display and control buttons (35a-35d) are on the forward face or alternatively may be mounted on the elongated rear portion. In a further embodiment of the invention, a bracket (55) may be mounted to the base of the display for connection to shelves in point of purchase use.</p> |
