PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector allowing the stroke regulation against the direction opposite to the energization of a ferrule assembly. SOLUTION: An optical connector 31 comprises a spring cap 34 formed so that at least a partial interval D1 of a fiber lead-through part 44 is smaller than the outer diameter D2 of the rear end surface 40 of a ferrule 35, so that the rear end surface 40 of the ferrule 35 abuts on the fiber lead-through part 44 when a ferrule assembly 33 moves by a fixed length D portion in the direction opposite to the energization by a spring 23.
