PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain microcapsules so designed that a powdery bulk drug intended for a core substance can be directly put to microencapsulation without the need of granulation, and as the sparingly water-soluble granules having bitterness when put to internal use, is not released from the microcapsules, thereby enabling such bitterness to be suppressed, and furthermore, smooth in tongue touch in the form of tablets (in particular, chewable ones), and to obtain a solid preparation containing such microcapsules. SOLUTION: The microcapsules each <=150μm in granular size are obtained by coating sparingly water-soluble granules having bitterness with a water- insoluble polymeric compound; wherein the above sparingly water-soluble granules preferably consist of a composition comprising caffeine, caffeine anhydride, or isopropylantipyrine or a mixture thereof.
