PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powdery composition for nasal administration excellent in persistency of absorption of medicines or both of rapid action and persistency. SOLUTION: This powdery composition for nased administration contains (A) a medicine, (B) one or more kinds of water-absorbing and gel-forming bases selected from a group comprising hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium and (C) one or more kinds of water-absorbing and slightly insoluble bases selected from a group comprising crystalline cellulose,α-cellulose, cross- linked carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, cross-linked starch, gelatin, casein, tragacanth gum, polyvinylpyrrolidone, chitin and chitosan. In the composition, an amount of the water-absorbing and slightly water-soluble base is about 5-40wt.% based on sum of the amount of the water-absorbing and slightly water- soluble base and the water-absorbing and gel-forming base.
