A rail-less vehicle for travelling through underground water pipes has a motor powered via a cable running behind from a surface power supply, plus a user platform (9) with inspection apparatus. The frame (5) of the vehicle can be adjusted in height. On both longitudinal sides of the vehicle or on its top side is at least one support (7) that can be extended laterally. The supports are pivoted and centred about the longitudinal axis. The frame has at least two wheels in a line, with pneumatic tyres. The vehicle is driven on both/all wheels. The height adjustment uses rocking arms (11) at the ends of which are the wheels.
