<p>A method for identifying one or more peptides that exhibit(s) biospecific affinity towards a predetermined structure, which method comprises that a) forming a phage/phagemid library by ligating random DNA fragments derived from a cloned gene, cDNA or genomic DNA so as to be in fusion with a gene for a surface protein of a helper phage and b) selecting phage particles binding to the predetermined structure. A phage/phagemid library having individual members that carry a gene for a surface protein fused to DNA fragments that are heterologous to the phage and that are derived from a cloned gene, cDNA or genomic DNA and that the peptides encoded by the fragments are exposed in fusion with the surface protein on the surface of individual phage particle members.</p> |
