<p>PURPOSE:To unfold an air bag quickly and flatly. CONSTITUTION:Both peripheral parts between an upper ground fabric 15 being opposed to an occupant and a lower ground fabric at the side of a steering wheel body are sealed up with each other, forming a bagy air bag 11. A gas inlet port 18, where an inflator spraying gas is inserted in, is formed almost in the central part of the lower ground fabric. Both these upper and lower ground fabrics are sewed up together at respective sewing part 24 in several spots. Each sewing part 24 is made up into an almost V-shaped form extendedly installed with a sewing body part 26 toward the outer circumferential side from a base part 25 installed at the inner circumferential side of the air bag 11. In this connection, an opening angle theta of this sewing body part 26 should be set to about 20 degrees. When gas is sprayed out of the inflator, the air bag 11 is flatly unfolded, and then thread of the sewing part is successively cut off from the base part 25 into being inflated to the occupant side. Therefore, such a fear that the sewing part is cut at a stretch is thus preventable from occurring.</p> |
