PURPOSE:To stabilize frequency with high precision by enabling multi-valued frequency information over a wide frequency range by encoding the frequency information for its recording using a photochemical hole burning member. CONSTITUTION:Laser light from a laser 1 is fed to a beam splitter 3 as distribution means via an optical isolator 2, and partial laser light from the beam splitter 3 is sent to a photochemical hole burning member 10 comprising a polymer material such as plastic and the like. For the hole burning member 10 light of predetermined frequency is multi-valued with which the member 10 is in turn irradiated, whereby many holes in response to the frequency are previously provided to a light absorption spectrum. Since in such a manner there is employed the hole burning member where a plurality of pieces of the frequency information are encoded and recorded, frequency stabilized laser light can be obtained over a wide frequency range by a control circuit 11. |
