Phenol esters of xamoterol of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, are new. In (I) X|= methylene or a bond, R1|= H or 3-8C alkyl or alkenyl, R2 and R3 |= 1-4C alkyl, such that when X |= bond, then R1 |= H and R2 and R3|= 2-4C alkyl or R1 is not H and R2 and R3|= methyl when X |= methylene, then R1 |= allyl or 5-7C alkyl and R2 |= R3 |= methyl.
