The invention relates to a process for the preparation of modified bitumen emulsions starting from bitumen or bitumens having a softening point of from 38 to 60@C and a penetration of from 30 to 200 by means of elastomers using one or more emulsifiers and a latex or lattices, where the bitumen or bitumens are warmed to temperatures of from 120 to 140@C and then mixed with an aqueous phase containing one or more emulsifiers and a dispersion of one or more lattices which are compatible with the emulsifier(s), at temperatures of from 50 to 80@C, and the mixture is heat-treated at temperatures of from 70 to 100@C for at least 15 minutes with stirring. The invention also relates to the use of the modified bitumen emulsions obtainable by this process as binders, primer material or insulating material. |
