PURPOSE:To prevent the biting of a cable coil into the gap formed between the terminal coil of cable and a collar edge plate by forming the cylindrical staircase form parts whose outside diameter gradually increases, at the corner part where a collar edge plate which partitions the both edges of a taking-up drum and the drum surface are opposed. CONSTITUTION:A cable (c) is wound in five layers onto a taking-up drum D which constitutes a cable taking-up device. In this case, the cylindrical staircase parts 36-38 in the first left state, second left stage and the first right stage are formed at the edge part of the taking-up drum D. Each cable seat floor is arranged in the annular gaps 26'-33' which are generated at the winding terminal edge of each cable (c) in the first - fifth layers. Therefore, the cable seat floor other than the first layer cable seat floor does not obstruct the operation of taking up the cable (c) in the lower layer than the above-described cable seat floor, and the biting of the cable coil set on each cable seat floor into each gap 26'-33' is perfectly prevented.
