GAS CYLINDER CHARGING APPARATUS

An apparatus for the automatic dispensing of a gas from a bank of supply tanks to a cylinder. The apparatus is particularly suitable for the charging of vehicle cylinders with Compressed Natural Gas (C.M.G.). The C.N.G. is stored in tanks held at progressively higher pressures charging of a cylinder being achieved by way of the pressure differential. As this approaches equalisation the apparatus switches up to a supply tank at a higher pressure to thus maintain the charge flow. The apparatus includes control circuitry and processor units to provide the above functions together with various safety checks and monitoring of the charge.
