In the rotary pump according to the invention, the rotating parts consist of electrically poorly conductive material. If such a pump, which rotates very rapidly, is arranged in the vicinity of a fusion reactor having a strong magnetic field, very low eddy-current losses result. Consequently it is unnecessary to position the pump far from the reactor, which would require a long supply line.
