A dry apportioner has an apportioning chamber (14), which is connected via a filling tube (13) to a supply hopper (1) and via an outlet tube (15) to further processing devices. A piston (20) can be deflected into the apportioning chamber (14). The inlet of the apportioning chamber (14) can be closed by a plate (40), the outlet can be closed by a disc (30). The elements, piston (20), plate (40) and disc (30), are deflected in a synchronised manner, so that when the inlet is open and the outlet is closed the apportioning chamber is initially filled with the piston (20) moved out from it and then, with the inlet closed and the outlet open, the piston conveys the medium out of the apportioning chamber (14) into the outlet tube (15). This produces a particularly precise apportioning while treating the apportioned medium gently, so that even media which are particularly sensitive to pressure, for example Stealim, can be apportioned satisfactorily. <IMAGE>
